Product Information
{Product Information}
{materials}
Each piece of jewelry is personally designed and handcrafted by me using sterling silver, genuine freshwater pearls, semi precious stones and/or Swarovski crystals.
All findings for each piece are sterling silver—this includes all bead chains in 18”, 20” and 24” lengths, headpins, jump rings, beads and charms unless otherwise noted in the individual description of the actual piece.
Charms are handcrafted using one or various combinations of the following:
~Natural white, cultured freshwater pearls--with each pearl varying slightly in color, shape and/or texture. Pearls are often said to symbolize sincerity, truth and loyalty.
~Natural gemstone beads.
~Swarovski, leaded birthstone crystals.
{the process}
A little about the process…each letter on every piece is handstamped one at a time. This makes every piece unique and a little different. The spacing and alignment of the letters varies a bit from piece to piece which is meant to add charm and character and not meant to be seen as a defect. The silver is then hand punched, sometimes textured and then oxidized so the lettering stands out. After this, each piece is polished by hand and the finished product is assembled and packaged.
Each item comes to you individually packaged in a wheat colored, 100% recycled, cotton-filled jewelry box. The box is tied with your choice of natural jute or ribbon. If a preference is not indicated, the box will be tied with natural jute. Included with each package is a small gift tag which is embedded with actual wildflower seeds. The tag is left blank for you to personalize. And, yes, afterwards, it can be planted! Inside the gift box, each pendant is sealed in a small, plastic, zipped-top bag with an anti-tarnish strip. A silver polishing pad is included in the box and can be used to keep your pendant looking like new.
{care and cleaning}
Care:
~After being worn, and before storing, wipe the sterling silver with a soft, jewelry cloth to remove body oils.
~Store your necklace in a zipped, plastic bag or wrapped in a tarnish prevention cloth made specifically for jewelry. Doing so will not only protect your piece from being scratched or damaged, but it will also slow the naturally occurring tarnishing process.
~Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
~Do not wear your sterling silver pendant while showering, swimming and/or sleeping.
~Try to avoid its direct contact with cosmetics, hairspray and perfume.
Cleaning:
Oxidation is a natural process that occurs when sterling silver and other metals are exposed to air and other every day substances. All sterling silver will tarnish with use and wear. Polishing cloths and pads, like the one included with your pendant, are easy to use and will quickly restore the look of your sterling silver piece to its original condition. Polishing pads can be used until they are completely blackened.
{of note}
Wheat and {Wildflower} jewelry designs are not intended for young children as each piece contains small parts that may present a risk or choking hazard. Please use discretion when purchasing these items to be given as gifts.

About
{About}
In September 2008, our sweet daughter, Sophie, joined our family through the blessing and miracle of adoption. She is our baby. Or if you asked her, our "mei mei". We adore her. All of us do. It's really as simple as that. Our journey to her was long. Maybe even longer than most. One that began seventeen years before we actually held her in our arms. The path of adoption seemingly, and often unknowingly, grew in our hearts over those many, many years. Today, I can look back and so clearly see how pieces have come together. And how questions have been answered. It's a story I love. And one that I know only a loving Father in Heaven could orchestrate. It's a beautiful journey that has left me forever changed. And I'm so glad that it has.
Over the past few years, I have been humbled and amazed as I have witnessed many women reach out to those in need...determined to make a difference in the lives of orphans. I have realized that even when individual contributions may appear small or insignificant, when many come together, wonderful things happen. Wheat and Wildflowers grew out of a desire to do my part. To give what I can to help those in need. Even if only in a very small way.
Months ago, as I was deciding on a business name, I was reminded of a talk I had recently heard during a meeting at church. The speaker, David A. Bednar, said the following:
"In my office is a beautiful painting of a wheat field. The painting is a vast collection of individual brushstrokes--none of which in isolation is very interesting or impressive. In fact, if you stand close to the canvas, all you can see is a mass of seemingly unrelated and unattractive streaks of yellow and gold and brown paint. However, as you gradually move away from the canvas, all of the individual brushstrokes combine together and produce a magnificent landscape of a wheat field. Many ordinary, individual brushstrokes work together to create a captivating and beautiful painting."
This passage spoke to my heart. It said what I was feeling, and I knew that somehow I would incorporate this image into the name of my business. I also love that in the scriptures, wheat is often used figuratively to represent followers of Christ. It is what I strive to be. What I try to do. Even though I stumble my way along. A lot.

I have always loved wildflowers. They are a gift of nature and given to everyone. And with the hundreds or maybe even thousands of different varieties, each is unusual and beautiful in its own way. Wildflowers sometimes grow together in big fields and other times are found growing alone. But whatever their circumstances, they color our world in their own unique way. They are here for us to enjoy. They make us happy. And to me, wildflowers represent the sweet moments with those we love that bring beauty, joy and meaning to our lives.
Welcome and thanks for stopping by...
